All of Marina's etchings are hand-pulled originals, done in the traditional way as first developed by some of the old world masters many centuries ago.

The creation and completion of each edition is a long and arduous journey.  It starts with a careful study of the subject matter, involving a lot of sketches and, of course, a roaming imagination.  Photographs help capture details that Marina will reference as she builds upon her image.  Marina is well known for her ability to drill down into the details that adds authenticity to her work.

Marina creates her own plates (zinc or copper).  Then each etching is individually created by her that involves inking and wiping the plate.  Finally etching paper and the plate is fed through a high pressure etching press.

After drying, Marina will then often add watercolor to the printed image to make the etching come alive.

The result is a beautiful original that is uniquely different from the other members of the edition.
