  LITTLE GARDEN

Gerard DeNerval, a French poet from the 1800's wrote:

"Each flower is a soul open out to nature."

In a transposition of DeNerval's poem, my piece depicts each soul as a flower opening out to Nature. My orginal theme came from an etching I did in the mid 80's, "Love", which was a rose with a woman body. In "Little Garden" I have expanded and made a women's garden of roses -- a garden of love. But as it is so very true with roses, there are always the sharp barbs that inhabit a garden.
